feel: ride your wave

last week, I released my fifth song and reflection post called: song: ride your wave
and I think the craziest thing so far, is that in this project's journey, we are basically halfway, 5 out of 11 song and feel posts, we are 6 out of 12 songs already!
And ride your wave came at a time when I needed it, seriously, I feel like I definitely was riding the wave of hustling throughout the holidays, and now we've started another semester, and I've had some time to reset. So yeah :)
these feel: blog posts invite you to take a moment and reflect, listen to its paired song and follow through my own exercise to explore your feelings, write them out, add some colour, visualize and breathe it through.
so i invite you to take a moment to reflect and feel too! maybe we'll discover something together or face something new and unfamiliar, let's feel together <3
Here's to us riding our waves, I hope you know that you can ride your wave, if you ever need a line, this space is for you too.
The step-by-step follow along photos will be first, if you scroll to the bottom, there will be written instructions!
For the lovelies who prefer written instructions, here they are!
Grab a pencil, marker, pen, anything that you have
A piece of paper, a notebook, anything,
softly ask and explore these questions (whether you think or jot some things)
when you feel like you've capsized, what are ways you can reach out for a line? what are those things that keep you afloat?
this prompt is about making a list of things we can do, when we feel overwhelmed, when we need a little floatie, a pick-me up
on one page, turn it side ways, landscape :) on the left side, draw a little sailboat and you the captain stick person
let's draw some wave lives, crazy high wave starting from the left side, then gradually calming down, settling waves, when you get to the right side
fill that stormy left wave side, with as many wave lines, scribbles, underneath, as much, remember that it calms down entering into the right side
on the right side, the calmer waters, we're going to draw you and your sailboat again, we've rode our wave, we've survived yayyyy.
at the top of the page, write out the lyric and prompt: cause i know i will ride my wave... ways i can reach out for a line, do things that help me stay afloat when I feel like I've capsized
write out your answers for the prompt in step 6, you can draw little circle floaties for each thing you can do when you've capsized, and you can continue to ride your waves!
I think the nice thing about this exercise, is that it helps ground me that I am capable and I have a system to fall back on, I do have things to try out, this is not the end during my stormy seasons. Some things that I do on a daily to ride these waves, are to really breathe, honestly, do some neck circles, stretch and move.
I invite you to try out this prompt in the best way you show up for it! If you'd like to share your floatie lines, comment below or in my new community space forum section!
I hope this little reflect and feel post is something you can take-away and try to do for yourself. As I experiment with this creative journey and building community, I am open to any suggestions, feedbacks or comments on the formatting or segments.
And if you reach the end of this, thank you for sharing this space with me.
Lots of love.
Take care always.
