feel: found myself tangled

last week, I released my second song and reflection post called song: found myself tangled

and this week, I'm introducing another creative journalling prompt to feel: found myself tangled

these feel: blog posts invite you to take a moment and reflect, listen to its paired song and follow through my own exercise to explore your feelings, write them out, add some colour, visualize and breathe it through.

so i invite you to take a moment to reflect and feel too! maybe we'll discover something together or face something new and unfamiliar

i'm with you and this space is for you too

the formatting might be a little different for this one, just trying something new, to make like a step by step image gallery kind of thing, rather than just the final thing with written instructions like the last one, feel: build a space (check this out if you'd like to set intentions for yourself)

So yes! The above is kinda like a little gallery of my process, adding some steps and the prompts along the way.

If you are the type who prefers written instructions to follow along, here they are:

  • Grab a pencil, marker, pen, optional if you like colours :)

  • A piece of paper, a notebook, anything, you'll need two pieces or fold in half

  • softly ask and explore these questions (whether you think or jot some things)

What is something you have been unravelling?

What do you hope for yourself after untangling it?

The main prompt for this feel: found myself tangled is

IN THIS CURRENT SEASON,

I'VE FOUND MYSELF TANGLED IN __________________?

AND SOME THINGS THAT CAN HELP ME ARE _______________________

  1. draw a stick figure in the middle of your page

  2. fill in the blank, write your answers around the figure

  3. in this season of life, i've found myself tangled in __________________

  4. after writing your answers, start drawing scribbles, circles, spirals, all around these spaces that make you feel tangled

  5. on a second page, we're going to draw another stick figure in the middle

  6. you can use colours to differentiate your tangled spaces, and we're going to unravel them

  7. the second part of this prompt is: and some things that can help me untangle it are: ____________________

  8. draw untangled spaces, large enough to write things in, optional with colours, or you can just label them

  9. fill in your spaces, answering the prompt from step 7

  10. now you can visually see the things that make you feel tangled, and also have some strategies to untangle yourself

With this exercise, I think as I was doing it, I just wanted to take a moment and actually reset a little, check-in, how have I been doing, where am I at and what do I need

So I'm actually glad I did it, because I end one semester and prepare for the next, I have a better idea of how I should set up a system for myself and include things that help me unravel these tangles

And something, I thought of, if you don't have alot of things to help you untangle, I do want to let you know that even labelling and naming what has you tangled is the first step, not knowing is also okay.

However you show up to this, is all we can ask for and all we can give. so, be soft and gentle.

I am curious if any of you do try this, feel free to write a comment, share a picture if you're comfortable.

I hope this little reflect and feel post is something you can take-away and try to do for yourself. As I experiment with this creative journey and building community, I am open to any suggestions, feedbacks or comments on the formatting or segments.

And if you reach the end of this, thank you for sharing this space with me.

Lots of love.

Take care always.
